Nature of Discovery in Science

ABSTRACT
By their very nature, the discoveries, which most influence the way we think about nature cannot be anticipated. Then, how do such discoveries come about, and are there research strategies which will enhance the probability that such discoveries will be made? The speaker will discuss this issue in light of some Nobel Prize winning discoveries, and some which have never won any prizes what so ever. All serve to illustrate a set of research strategies and illustrate the manner by which our understanding of nature advances.
