The Summer 2005 VMEC Undergraduate Scholars Exchange Program is offering eight summer internships, one each at the six member institutions as well as one each at Micron Technologies and Infineon Technologies.
To be eligible for consideration, you must be an engineering or science student between your junior and senior year at a VMEC member institution. This program is explicitly designed to give the participating students the opportunity to conduct research at other colleges and universities around the Commonwealth or at a major fabrication facility in the State. In addition to opportunities to collaborate with faculty members at a VMEC institution, the student may choose to work with a VMEC mentor from either Infineon Technologies or Dominion Semiconductor and gain experience working in a state-of-the-art fabrication facility.
For the Summer 2005 program, each institution offers different opportunities, as described below.
The program is 10- to 13-weeks long. Participants will work hard, but they are rewarded for their efforts. Each participant will receive a $650 stipend per week. Students must work on project at location other than home school.
Applications should be submitted by February 28, 2005 to
